This traditional asian-style tea set is handmade from high quality chinese celadon ware, and is fired in a special process which gives the teapot and cups its special, unique surface structure.

What is special is that the cracks in the structure change slightly in color everytime hot water is used with the pot and cups. The color change is very subles in various tones like soft golds. That makes this exclusive tea set a living product that changes with the users habits and thus can tell a story.

A handmade cord connects the lid with the handle. The teapot is also fitted with a built-in filter for tea leaves, thus no extra tea-filters are needed.

The included five cups fit perfectly in this traditional set with their flat, protruding style and each cup features a symbol on the ground, which has a special meaning in asian culture: The turtle represents longevity, the pair of koi symbolizes a harmonious marriage, the five petals of the plum blossom symbolize the "five blessings" longevity, wealth, health, virtue and the desire to die a natural death in old age and the sunflower symbolizes peace.

Harmony for all five senses: The taste and aroma of the tea, the artful design of the cup bottom, which is visible through the tea, the pleasant feel of the quality materials used and the full sound when touching cups for a drink.

The set is perfectly suitable for the chinese tea ceremony of Gong Fu Cha. Gong Fu Cha literally means "tea prepared with great skill". Drinking tea in this enjoyable way developed in China during the Ming Dynasty. Typical for this ceremony are very small, handle-less teacups and a small sized pot. The small pot always guarantees fresh tea because the content is only enough for a few cups, so fresh hot water must be used for each new round.

five small teacups (approx. 55 ml, dimensions 70 x 35 mm)
bamboo serving plate as shown, 28 cm diameter
