The centerpiece of our Matcha tea ceremony set "Tetsu" (japanese for "iron") is the handcrafted ceremonial bowl in a classic design, which attracts everyone's attention with its deliberately irregular shape and the wavy edge that represents the hilly landscape of Japan. The iron gray glazing features a distinctive cast iron like hammerfinish that matches well to cast iron tea kettles and allows the intense green of the Matcha to stand out.
The relatively large bowl has a diameter of 12 cm and a height of 8.0 cm. With a volume of approx. 430 ml, the bowl offers enough space to whip the Matcha tea until it is frothy.
The set includes a "Chashaku" matcha spoon for the optimal dosage of the matcha, as well as the bamboo whisk, also known as "Chasen", an indispensable accessory for preparing matcha tea. It has 80 bristles and enables the Matcha tea to be whipped with a firm and attractive foam. The whisk holder made of porcelain (japanese "Chasentate") in the same design as the matcha bowl extends the life of the matcha whisk by allowing the bristles to dry quickly and particularly well thanks to even ventilation. After use, simply rinse the bamboo broom with lukewarm water and place it on the holder with the bristles facing down. The special shape of the holder ensures that the bristles are spaced apart for best drying and keep their shape longer.
The set is completed by 30g of organic Matcha from Japan* in the premium quality level, which is ideally suited for the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. Due to its bright, deep green color, the particularly mild and fresh taste, our Premium Matcha also meets high demands and creates a fine, stable foam when whipped.
